The plot to kill Tom Bradley

Bob Kholos was a KMPC and Radio News West radio reporter in Los Angeles who became the first press secretary for newly elected mayor Tom Bradley in 1973. At a new blog he has launched in the Bay Area, Kholos tells stories from those days and reveals that he was forbidden to tell reporters that the Symbionese Liberation Army (the small radical group that kidnapped Patty Hearst) had relocated to Los Angeles and intended to murder Bradley. It wasn't an idle threat at the time—they had already killed Marcus Foster, Oakland's superintendent of schools.
