Put an "A" in your window *

You too can get one of those little "A" placards from the county health department—if your kitchen at home passes inspection. You do the inspection yourself, today's Daily News says, using the same basic criteria that restaurants are graded on. It's part of a PR campaign to encourage safer food handling at home, but not everyone is amused. "I think it's silly," said Canoga Park resident Ruth Hipschman. Added Catherine Kelsey of Granada Hills: "Doesn't the county have more things to do that would be more useful than this?"
