Leaving DreamWorks

Andy Spahn, the head of corporate affairs at DreamWorks and political consigliere to Messrs. Geffen, Spielberg and Katzenberg, is heading out on his own. Well, he won't exactly be alone. Jennifer Gonring is coming along as Vice President in the new Andy Spahn & Associates offices in Universal City. And there is that client list too:

Spahn joined DreamWorks SKG in 1996 as head of Corporate Affairs, where he oversaw all corporate communications, government, community and media relations. He simultaneously managed the personal charitable and political giving of its three founders, Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen. Previously, he held such positions as President of the David Geffen Foundation, President & CEO of the Environmental Media Association and Special Assistant to the Chairmen of the Democratic Senatorial and Congressional Campaign Committees.

“We will continue to work with Kate Capshaw & Steven Spielberg, Marilyn & Jeffrey Katzenberg and DreamWorks Animation and will represent other individuals and companies with an interest in giving back and making a difference in their communities,” said Spahn.

“Andy has been an important part of my team for nearly a decade and his experience both in government and philanthropy has been invaluable to me,” said DreamWorks co-principal and director Steven Spielberg. “I look forward to continuing our partnership in the years ahead.”

DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg added, "Andy has a well deserved reputation as one of the most highly respected executives in his field, and his new firm will continue to help DreamWorks Animation and me make a difference in the communities we live in and work in."

The office promises to deliver clients "a range of personal and corporate affairs services with a focus on strategic philanthropy, government and public relations."
