A federal grand jury charges that Terry Christensen, 65, paid private eye Anthony Pellicano at least $100,000 to wiretap Lisa Bonder Kerkorian, the wife of billionaire investor Kirk Kerkorian, during their bitter child support dispute in 2002. The two-count indictment says that the lawyer "would use the information gleaned from the illegal wiretap to secure a tactical advantage in litigation by learning Lisa Bonder Kerkorian's plans, strategies, perceived strengths and weaknesses, settlement position and other confidential information."
* Thursday's Daily Journal: (11:30 pm) Christensen is the lead partner at Christensen, Miller, Fink, Jacobs, Glaser, Weil & Shapiro, a 120-lawyer firm, and his own legal team includes Terree Bowers, the former U.S. Attorney and chief deputy to City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo. Tomorrow's Daily Journal quotes Loyola professor Laurie L. Levenson and City councilman Jack Weiss, a former federal prosecutor, predicting that more attorneys will be indicted in the case. "'This will get the attention of every lawyer in Los Angeles,' said Michael Proctor, a criminal-defense attorney at Caldwell, Leslie, Newcombe and Pettit."
