Playwright Wendy Wasserstein succumbed to cancer today in New York. "The Heidi Chronicles" won the Pulitzer Prize for drama and the Tony for best play in 1989. Her other works include "Uncommon Women and Others" and "The Sisters Rosensweig." LAT obit.
