♦ The Daily Journal's lede has imprisoned PI Anthony Pellicano deciding to defend himself if he is charged with wiretapping by the feds. He's due to get out of prison Feb. 4.

♦ Rich Lederer of The Baseball Analysts blog is getting credit for helping push former Angel Bert Blyleven closer to the Hall of Fame. Blyleven, more qualified than many pitchers already elected, surpassed 50% for the first time in this week's vote results.
