The Los Angeles cartooning team of Guy Endore-Kaiser and Rodd Perry broke into the Times in January with "Brevity." They got some attention then (including here on LAO) because the strip came in at the time the LAT axed "Garfield." Well, you know what they say about fleeting fame. Today the Times launched "Bliss," by New Yorker cartoonist Harry Bliss, in the spot where Brevity used to run. Bliss lives in Vermont and in addition to his cartoons and covers for The New Yorker magazine has drawn for Playboy, Nickelodeon and Archaeology. Here's a sample cartoon from Bliss's website.
