Our man in London

The Times' Alan Abrahamson, in Singapore covering the politics of choosing a site for the 2012 Olympics, observes that the chief operating officer in Los Angeles for Anschutz Entertainment (Staples Center, King Tut, et al) is there lobbying against New York on behalf of London. "This is about business," says Scott Blackmun. Anschutz is heavily invested in the former Millennium Dome, now called The O2.

Add sports: If the Dodgers' Cesar Izturis plays in next week's All Star game, he will be the first position player whose name starts with I to do so.
