Met News to collect

Los Angeles County will pay $40,000 to settle a lawsuit over DA Steve Cooley's over-exuberant search of the Metropolitan News-Enterprise offices back in 2002. The deal announced Monday includes a promise by the district attorney to limit future searches. The legal newspaper's owner, Roger M. Grace, is apparently happy now.
