Miscikowski says ta ta

Someone who observed today's City Council farewell to Cindy Miscikowski emails that both Hahn and Villaraigosa showed up (along with ex-members Zev Yaroslavsky and Joy Picus.) The video tribute included a segment on Council President Alex Padilla and colleague Tony Cardenas pretending to break in to Miscikowski's office, go through her stuff and make a crack on how organized she seems. On the way out, Padilla swipes something off her desk. Ex-councilman Marvin Braude also appeared via video.

Inauguration watch: Journalists have been told that for tomorrow's evening gala, the Villaraigosa surrogates showing up at 5 p.m. to appear on newscasts will be City Controller Laura Chick, school board president Jose Huizar, Council President Alex Padilla, Councilmembers Wendy Greuel, Jack Weiss and Martin Ludlow, and ex-mayor Richard Riordan. Coverage of the dinner itself is pool only. Print pool members are Jessica Garrison for the Times, Rick Orlov for the Daily News and Jazmin Ortega or Jorges Morales for La Opinión. The entertainment bill will be:

Carla Sanger, LA's BEST President & CEO
LA's BEST children
Johnny Polanco y Su Conjunto Amistad featuring Tito Puente, Jr.
Special Surprise Guest Performer

Villaraigosa also announced a $3.6 million challenge grant from the Broad Foundation for LA's BEST.
