Digging deep

FishbowlLA turns sleuth and checks on the cred of a semi-anonymous trendy mentioned in last Thursday's New York Times Styles section. The trail leads, possibly, to Alexandra Kerry. Fishbowl also posts on today's LAT story by Charles Duhigg in which the editor of Hits magazine, Lenny Beer, says that trade rags like his make it a practice to slant editorial content in favor of advertisers: "It's one of the things that all industry magazines do, in our industry and lots of others." The story details accusations that Beer panned V2 Records after it stopped paying the magazine. V2 president Andy Gershon's complaining email set off a war of words in the music biz.
