Villaraigosa goes out to Bob Hertzberg's home turf in Sherman Oaks this morning to accept the endorsement of "a leading Los Angeles entrepreneur." He's bringing Dick Riordan with him. The mystery figure apears at 11 — wonder if there will be hugs all around? (Or maybe there will be magic in the air?) Meanwhile, after Saturday's L.A. Sentinel debate, Hahn's people were quick to point out that Villaraigosa said he supports the 3-12 work schedule for LAPD cops, even though he was endorsed by the schedule's biggest critic, Bernard Parks, and opposed it in 2001. Also, this week's L.A. Business fronts a story saying that "people who do business with City Hall are scrambling to get on board Antonio Villaraigosa’s campaign." The Daily News' Rick Orlov has two stories in Monday's paper, one dinging Hahn's record (again) and the other noting that some voters don't like Villaraigosa's political ambitions. Orlov's Tipoff column points out that Valley councilman Dennis Zine is trying to play both sides of the endorsement game.
* Endorsement update: It's Magic Johnson, who repeats the "Jimmy is not his father" line. It's another prominent African American for Villaraigosa. Hahn over the weekend got Mervyn Dymally.
