A new batch of construction photographs from the Griffith Observatory renovation are posted at Griffithobs.org. It wouldn't reproduce small here, but the top-down, fish-eye view of the cork floor recently installed in the planetarium is interesting. A webcam keeps tabs on the front of the building. Work is still pointing toward a May, 2006 unveiling, when the (ultimate?) L.A. landmark will have double the space, a theater, a place to eat and a bunch of cool new exhibits and design flourishes. I can't imagine where the crowds will park.
Coming along
