Michel Thomas obit *

Some of you might remember last year's exchanges in the old comments section here about Michel Thomas. He was the language teacher to the stars who claimed a number of World World II exploits that the L.A. Times looked into and couldn't verify. After Thomas sued the Times and lost, his supporters would swoop in here whenever the name of reporter Roy Rivenburg was mentioned. Anyway, Thomas died Saturday. The Times ran an obituary today that plays it straight and mentions up high that he was awarded the Silver Star last year. The lawsuit and controversy aren't mentioned until near the end.

* Post: The Washington Post obit took a more skeptical view of Thomas in death.
