Surfing the art theft detail

ART Detail montageA story by Troy Anderson in today's Daily News surveys the city-owned artwork that has gone missing—and led me to fritter away half an hour clicking around in the art theft detail area of the LAPD website. There are case files to read with names like "Count" Eordogh and the "Goya", The Butler Did It, The Chauffeur Did It and Well-traveled Renoir. There's a compilation of suspects and bulletins about missing art and background on the art theft detail, including many press stories about it. The Daily News says, by the way, that detectives are looking for about 360 missing pieces of city art.
