Regular readers of New York's Gawker and its L.A. spinoff Defamer may have noticed a certain fascination with gossip about teenager Lindsay Lohan on both blogs (and with her nipples on Gawker-owned porn blog Fleshbot). Today, the Editorial Director of the Gawker websites, Choire Sicha, turns up in the L.A. Times Calendar section with a freelanced interview with Lohan and feature on her new pop CD and alliance with record producer Tommy Mottola. In the piece, she denies recent Gawker gossip that she was photographed out with friends smoking pot and drinking beer. Though publicists hover, Sicha and the 18-year-old appear to get along fine:
Lohan's CD, in fact, calls to mind early Mariah Carey: It's a less "urban," more rock version of Carey's un-lush, tight electronic early songs, though Lohan's smoky and snarly voice has a far more limited range.Wearing a scoop-neck top and jeans, Lohan settled into a black leather club chair looking like one of those actresses in their late 20s who know how to play teen. Nothing about her belied her age: She even spoke without teen "ums" and "you-knows." She was gung-ho, even chipper, as she talked music.
Today's top Lohan item on the Gawker sites focuses on questions about whether she lip-synched through yesterday's performance on "Good Morning America."
