Layoffs in Tribune land *

This time it's at the Orlando Sentinel, where publisher Kathy Waltz informs the staff: "All of Tribune faces these same economic realities and is taking steps to improve financial performance. As most of our employees are shareholders, I know everyone wants to see an upward swing in the stock price." Eleven open positions were eliminated, nine workers were laid off, and an advertising magazine was closed down.
