Beware the Book Nazi

Dutton's warns anyone who comes to see Tom Wolfe at the Brentwood store next Monday that the author has laid down a few ground rules. Violate them and, I guess, you risk hearing Wolfe shout "No book for you! Next!" Via The Elegant Variation:

The fine folks at Dutton's inform us that "Mr. Wolfe has indicated that, because of time constraints, he will only be able to sign copies of his newest book, I Am Charlotte Simmons, at the Monday, November 15 event. Additionally, he will be unable to personalize copies."

Noted: The Elegant Variation's Mark Sarvas reports that he was interviewed about literary blogs today by Karen Grigsby Bates of NPR's Day to Day. The segment is scheduled to air tomorrow. He points listeners to KCRW's airing of the show at noon, but those who get up earlier can hear it on KPCC at 9 a.m.
