St. Louis Kardinals? *

Now that the Dodgers have lost, Mayor Jim Hahn owes a sweet treat to his counterpart in St. Louis. He promised something from "a legendary L.A. institution, Cobbler King," but the City Hall staffer who drives over to Jefferson Boulevard to pick up the goodies might bring an apology. As Patrick McGreevy points out, it's spelled Kobbler King.

* And: Robin Ventura calls it a career after 16 years, 2,079 games and a slew of bases-loaded RBIs. He hit 18 grand slam homers, the third-most ever. Also, it was nice to see the Dodgers and Cardinals learn from hockey and shake hands on the field after the series ended. And Jon at Dodger Thoughts thanks the blog commenters for not letting his game-day open forums "degenerate into talk-radio nonsense," and pays tribute to his team. Handshake at Dodger Stadium
