Anne Thompson in the New York Times weighs in on the case of ex-magazine writer Jeff Grosso, who sued Miramax for allegedly stealing his screenplay idea about a high-stakes poker player. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeal recently sided with him, and the NYT suggests that the case gives writers more power to keep control of their ideas.
