Randolph Steven Webster used to be vice president for publicity at FX until he was fired in 2001, then went on to be VP for corporate communications and marketing planning at the Game Show Network and senior VP for communications at Universal Television Group. The problem is, after being dumped by FX, he kept calling in and secretly listening to the weekly executive staff meetings. He did this for 2½ years, the DA says. Webster's lawyer blames "unusual professional circumstances" that wil be explained at the trial. Webster faces three years if convicted. He is married to UCLA tennis coach Stella Sampras Webster, the sister of Pete Sampras. (L.A. Times)
