Just to follow up on a couple of previous L.A. Observed items: Christopher Breslin, the brother of Rosemary Breslin (and son of Jimmy), has posted a gracious thank you to well-wishers in the recent comment thread about his sister's passing. The author and former Herald Examiner writer died in June. Also, the mother of Mark Antenorcruz stopped in last week and posted a birthday message to her son. Char and other family and friends have posted comments on occasion since I ran an item about Mark being killed last year in the Dodger Stadium parking lot.
In other housekeeping, last week was a good one on the traffic counter. L.A. Observed had an average of 5,680 daily visitors and 42,000 daily hits, with a high of 60,000 hits on Tuesday. We've had higher daily spikes, but that's a good average for the site. (It's a local niche blog, not Drudge!) And yesterday, I blocked my first IP address of an obnoxious (and of course anonymous) serial comment poster. I had been urged to act for a couple of days, and tried suggestion and gentle persuasion first. Finally I just got tired of babysitting the guy (we think it was a guy).
