Franklin Avenue points out that Michael Kinsley won't be the first major L.A. media figure to do his job from the Pacific Northwest. KROQ morning DJ Gene "Bean" Baxter, of Kevin & Bean, does his part of the show from an island in Puget Sound. He's done it for years and manages to stay up on L.A. doings. "The DJ freely admits on air that he's broadcasting from a farm up north," Franklin Avenue says.
