LAVoice.org has a neat little counter that lets visitors know just how many times a blog entry has been read in its entirety. Last week's item on the Midnight Special bookstore closing, for instance, was read 44 times, an item the same day on L.A. Observed 36 times. An April 29 item on porn stars and HIV has done better, counting 221 reads in two weeks online. But for traffic, nothing at the site has come close to Mack Reed's Mother's Day post about visiting the Church of Scientology's Hollywood Celebrity Centre: 606 reads and counting in just two days.
