Mack Reed of LAVoice.org listened to Mayor Jim Hahn this morning on the Kevin and Bean show and was not amused. The chitchat reads to me like the kind of light fare you'd expect of the morning show on KROQ, though Kevin did allude to the news story that has City Hall buzzing: Hahn's removal yesterday of Alan Llorens, a critic of his LAX expansion plan, from the city airports commission. Among the new commissioners Hahn appointed to oversee the airport is Walter Zifkin, head of the William Morris agency.
* Also: The Breeze reports that just getting the new commissioners announced proved to be a challenge, befuddling city council member Cindy Miscikowski:
In the span of two hours, Hahn's office issued three different news releases on his makeover of the seven-member commission that had the panel's low-key Westchester representative, Alan Llorens, both remaining on and being removed from the commission. All three releases -- one of which was erroneously posted on Hahn's Web site by an intern, according to a Hahn spokeswoman -- also contained different lists of nominees..."They create chaos and confusion," Miscikowski said. "To have a statement out that may or may not be true is unbelievable to me."
