LA.com blogs that Adam Moss at New York magazine may (or may not) be looking for a Hollywood columnist since Anne Thompson was let go by his predecessor. Before her, the position belonged to Nikki Finke, now writing the Deadline Hollywood column in the LA Weekly. Also, the blog says that Jodi Kantor is trolling Hollywood for recommendations on local freelancers for the New York Times Arts and Leisure section. Meanwhile, Paul Brownfield writes in today's (* correction: Tuesday's) LAT Calendar about The New Yorker's growing interest in Los Angeles. He notes the local staffers Caitlin Flanagan and Connie Bruck, the regular dispatching of Tad Friend from Brooklyn to write the "Letter from California," and the work of Steve Martin and cartoonist Bruce Eric Kaplan showing up in the magazine. Editor David Remnick quips: "I get around; the magazine should get around."
