This can't be true

Or can it? The New York Post's Keith J. Kelly says today that Gov. Schwarzenegger "is close to signing a deal with the parent company of the National Enquirer that would make him editorial director of its Muscle & Fitness magazine." In the story, the governor's office has no comment. Reports Kelly:

Muscle & Fitness' founder, Joe Weider, has long been close to the body builder-turned-movie star-turned politician.

The Weider family sold their company to American Media for $350 million more than a year ago, but at least one family member remains on the American Media board.

Some thought the Weider family ties to Schwarzenegger, a body-building icon, were enough to persuade the supermarket wing of American Media's empire not to dig into his background for any sexcapades during last year's campaign for governor of California.

Current American Media CEO David Pecker always denied the claim.

(Update: It's true)
