Channel 2 reporter Rick Chambers was taken off the air for two days last week after airing racial slurs in a taped story about that protest over hate crimes at the Claremont colleges, Variety's Michael Schneider reports today. The slurs were repeated on camera by a police officer and included in the piece Chambers delivered. He is a freelance "per diem" reporter at the station and was due back at work today.
