Hoy hits on Monday

The new Los Angeles Spanish-language newspaper from the Tribune folks debuts March 1. The editor is Reynaldo Mena, who used to edit the Orange Country Register's weekly en Espanol, Excelsior, says today's LAT story.

Editions of Hoy will include eight pages of sports coverage, as well as entertainment news. A special weekend guide, Vida Hoy, will cover restaurants, events, music, television, movies and other entertainment news and features.

Hoy will dedicate region- specific pages each day to news from Central America, South America, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

The tabloid newspaper, based in downtown Los Angeles, will be published Monday through Friday and sell for 25 cents at newsstands and retail outlets.
