Mark Bowden's October cover story in The Atlantic, "The Dark Art of Interrogation" -- which explored the role of torture and other tactics in interrogation of suspected terrorists -- has been optioned for a feature film by Jerry Weintraub, Variety reports. Bowden is the journalist who wrote Black Hawk Down and Killing Pablo. "The idea is to do this as a character-driven, high-stakes, high-tension thriller that focuses on a mano-a-mano battle and test of the wills," says Weintraub honcho Mark Vahradian.
