Howard Kurtz writes in the Post that for journalists, "On paper, an effort to recall a California governor who had just been reelected and had committed no low crimes or misdemeanors" would seem as unlikely as the Cubs eliminating the Braves from the playoffs. But, as he says, "Elections, like baseball games, don't play out on paper."
