The Breeze is on the move

A couple of South Bay papers, the Beach Reporter and the Palos Verdes Peninsula News, have been bought by Copley Press, owner of the Daily Breeze. Both of the smaller papers will continue to publish, but will run some classified ads from the Breeze and share back-office functions, a Breeze story today says. Breeze publisher Arthur E. Wible Jr. explains:

“Before this acquisition the Los Angeles Times would have more coverage than the Breeze in terms of raw numbers” in the beach cities and Palos Verdes Peninsula, Wible said. “That was on Sunday. On Monday, we take the Breeze numbers and add the 62,000 (circulation) penetration of these two fine publications. “We think this gives us a leg up on our largest competitor and that’s pretty important in the lifeline of any company,” he said.

The Aesthetic has some background.
