Film critic Henry Sheehan (Film Week on KPCC-FM) looks at the Schwarzenegger boomlet from another angle and predicts that, win or lose, by running he has "pretty much put the finishing touches on a fading movie career." He also predicts some testiness and probably worse when Arnold has to take questions from reporters.

Schwarzenegger has been shielded from contact with anything but suppliants, sycophants and protectors for the last 25 years...

The show business press (or “journalists,” as they are inevitably referred to) are a highly massaged bunch, seduced and, once in a while, coerced by experienced publicists into going alone [sic] with cleverly devised publicity campaigns.

Also the San Francisco Chronicle goes to California's least populous county. Alpine, and finds nobody is running for governor.
