Reading Arnold for wisdom

Los Angeles blogger Robert Garcia Tagorda (Priorities and Frivolities) has the only site I know of that mixes politics with regular takes on the Dodgers. He's aware of the dichotomy, so much so that the quotes in his left-hand column at www.boomshock.blogspot.com include praise ("Best of blogs," MSNBC) and gentle chides ("Less baseball would improve his work," Mrs. Boomshock). Today, Tagorda has a piece on the San Francisco Chronicle op-ed page that examines the collected books of Arnold Schwarzenegger for insight into the Terminator's thinking on the recall and other political matters.

As his outline on effective training strategies shows, Schwarzenegger may have no problems taking a pass: "You need to choose the right time and place to do battle. . . . You need to be confident of your battle tactics, know when to attack, when to withdraw, and how to conserve ammunition."

Being a scholar, he posts his citations for the piece on the blog.
