Pacheco has something to say

Former city councilman Nick Pacheco -- the guy nudged from office by Antonio Villaraigosa -- has a new column starting today in the Northeast Observer. He says that Richard Riordan's strong relationship with the Latino community could be a boon in the recall race.

Riordan, a Republican, was also known for working with anyone he thought could deliver and that led him to hire two Latino Democrats to critical positions in his administration...

To be successful he needed to have someone controlling his message and someone leading his business team that he trusted. Noelia Rodriguez was his Deputy Mayor in charge of media relations and Rocky Delgadillo was his Deputy Mayor in charge of his business team. Riordan's actions spoke louder than words and Latino voters respected him for that.

Pacheco also urges the Democrats to find a "lower to middle tier" candidate for the recall ballot, to give the party faithful someone to vote for if Davis tanks.
