The Car Show hosted by John Retsek and Art Gould is apparently back on the Saturday lineup at KPFK -- at least for now. Retsek emails that the show (on KPFK since 1973) will move to 1 p.m. as of July 19 and air for an hour each week. It used to have two hours, but the show's fans will take this for as long as it lasts. When "The Car Show" was nowhere on the new schedule released July 4 by program director Armando Gudiņo, several longtime KPFK supporters emailed L.A. Observed to say the decision was a gaffe that would cut into the station's listenership and sock fundraising. Retsek refrained from bashing the station on last week's penultimate show, and even reiterated that he was proud to be part of Pacifica Radio -- a high road that perhaps helped save the program.
