L.A. Times editors and managers were informed in a memo that managing editor Dean Baquet won't be leaving for the New York Times or anywhere else, Paul Colford reports. The New York Daily News media reporter had previously said Baquet met with NYT publisher Arthur Sulzberger in L.A. and turned down his overtures to come back, probably as #2.
