Right-wing columnist Pat Buchanan writes that his sources tell him Arnold Scwarzenegger has decided to run in the Davis recall election and will have the backing of Richard Riordan. Arnold, he concludes, can win as a Republican and is trying to heal the rifts with conservatives suspicious because "Schwarzenegger is pro-gay rights, pro-choice on abortion and pro-gun control, and called the impeachment of Bill Clinton a Republican disgrace." Can win, that is, unless, Sen. Dianne Feinstein runs. The question is will Riordan have his weekly out by the time of the election, and will enough upscale Westsiders -- the target demographic -- pick up the free paper to matter to Schwarzenegger's chances?
Riordan to back Arnold, says Buchanan
