The victory Tuesday of David Tokofsky means that ex-mayor Dick Riordan lost another bid to hold on to his (and Eli Broad's) influence on the L.A. school board. The mayor and the mogul put up a challenger to punish Tokofsky, who had strayed from the Coalition for Kids party line. Two of Riordan's annointeds, Caprice Young and Genethia Hayes, were cast out by voters earlier this year.
